Religious leaders urged their followers to show kindness and support to those in need as they celebrate Easter. They also called upon the faithful to strengthen their contribution in the ongoing nation development.
Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church Abune Mathias said the resurrection of Jesus Christ is an act of reconciliation between God and human being. He said the faithful should consider the needy while celebrating the Holiday.
Archbishop of the Ethiopian Catholic Church Abune Berhaneyesus for his part said resurrection is the base for love and respect for one another.
President of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekaneyesus, Reverend Dr. Wakseyoum Edossa said resurrection is an event in which the wall of enmity between God and humanity is destroyed. He also underlined the need for consultation to prevent human trafficking that has become a concern.
Evangelical Churches Fellowship of Ethiopia Deputy Board Chair, Pastor Hiruy Tsigie said humanity has got redemption because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
All the religious leaders stressed the need to actively take part in the ongoing nation development.
